Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Thanksgiving weekend is one of my favorite things to do.  My parents live nearby, as well as my sister and my two nephews.  Mom cooks the turkey, stuffing and gravy.  My sister makes the cold sides and I make the hot sides. It works out really well, and takes a lot of stress off of my Mom.  Once our bellies are full, my daughter and I return to our home to watch "Home Alone".  This is our tradition.  On Friday, we are at Target at 4:00 am to shop!  This is my daughter's favorite part.  Me too, I like the festivity of the day, it puts me in the Christmas state of  mind.

The winner of our giveaway, Peggy, has selected the frame for "Snow White".  She's currently stitching this piece, so it was perfect for her.  Thanks to everyone who entered.  I like giveaways, so don't be surprised to see another one soon.

What is your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?  Perhaps if everyone leaves comments, I'll conjure up a little treat to send!

Wonderful wishes to all for a blessed and beautiful Thanksgiving..

.Sharon

This year my favorite thing about Thanksgiving is that a dear friend is coming to spend the day and we're celebrating Christmas with her while she's here. How's that for fun? Two holidays wrapped up in one package. It makes me smile. :-) We'll also watch Muppet Christmas Carol. That's a tradition here!!

After all the food and festivities of the day the family sits down and watches Its A Wonderful Life if its on tv or we pop the movie in. It not only puts me in the holiday spirit but reminds us to be thankful for what we have.

I really enjoy spending time with my daughter and the rest of our family and friends. I usually cook most everything myself, so it is a little stressfull, but it is surely worth it....Happy Thanksgiving!!

I will enjoy spending the day with family. My nephew is frying a turkey. Our weather here in Texas is still in the 80's,suppose to turn cold Thursday evening. After our great meal that we have all had a part of preparing,we will watch the Texas A&M and Texas longhorns football game.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I used to shop with dd early Friday am in days of yore - it was always a day of much excitement and great joy. It's not something I care to do any more so now she heads out very early with friends and I spend quality time with the dear sweet little grand daughters.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your readers.

I love the moments before everyone arrives. The house is perfect, the table set, and the anticipation of the meal to come. Then after the meal - Black Friday ads come out and the planning begins! Friday - not sure but this year there are no plans to be out early - just leaving around noon.

Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful and the bargain you seek are there for you!

Smiles - Denise

We used to celebrate Thanksgiving, my daughter's birthday, and Christmas all in the one weekend when my Dad and step-mom visited. It was whirlwind of fun and memories! This year we're celebrating the birthday and Thanksgiving a week late with my daughter and her boyfriend, so my husband are having the "real" day with just the two of us. New traditions, anyone?

As a Canadian, I've already celebrated Thanksgiving in October. I enjoy preparing the meal because I usually have a lot more time at Thanksgiving than during Christmas. I love pumpkin pie!!!
I also enjoy singing in my husband's choir during the Thanksgiving service and I love to see how the church has been decorated to celebrate the harvest.
I hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Helping mom make the cornbread stuffing - there is always a little more cornbread than needed for the dressing - so helper gets a piece warm, with butter! Just the smells, the sounds, the parade on t.v. and then the football sounds...

Wishing for snow - getting my Christmas cards out and starting them on Thanksgiving (now that I'm an adult) and knowing that once Thanksgiving is over, I can blast the Christmas music (Sherry's rule...)

Happy Thanksgiving Sharon! Hope you find some good deals at 4 a.m.

I love the laughter...there are always so many funny memories and remembering those who have passed on by sharing funny stories keeps them "with us" on the holiday. We're a goofy family, what can I say? Ha ha ha. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving - enjoy the moments!! :)

I love the cooling and the baking. I do it all myself because it makes me happy. During dinner we all tell about what we are thankful for. Thanksgiving is truly my favorite holiday. Enjoy yours.

I would have to say now that the kids are getting older and moving out, it is so much fun to have everyone at the table at the same time, along with aunts/uncles, cousins, grandparents and friends. We all pitch in and make something for the meal. I have been the creamed cauliflower maker, rolls, apple pies, chocolate pudding pies and whatever else floats my boat. :)
Happy Thanksgiving Sharon! :)

I used to love watching the parade and I still do! My first turkey turned out pretty sad, so my sweet husband (mostly out of self defense because he wanted turkey leftovers) now makes the turkey and the mashed potatoes. I, the domestic goddess that I am (Not!) make the rest. We then sit down and share what we are thankful for. Afterwards we usually will play a game of some sort. It's a nice relaxing day.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Sharon!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is my Mom's side, over 40 of us now, are all together. My cousins and I are grown and have our own children now, and it's nice that our children have a close relationship with each other just like my generation. It's usually a loud, wild day but a day that none of us would change a moment of.

I absolutely love cooking the meal and the smells that permeate the house. One of my cats has a birthday on Thanksgiving, so he gets lots of turkey to celebrate! :)

Just spending time with the family is my favorite thing. But of course the food is also a welcomed site!

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is that it's the only day of the year that my kids and I actually sit down at the table in our own house and eat a meal together. Usually, either one of us is absent or we're parked in front of the TV to eat. Other than Thanksgiving, we only sit at a table together on the rare occasons that we eat out. Sad.

Over the last 10 years our family has lost quite a few family members so our Thanksgiving is alot smaller now. We all get together to eat at my house (used to be at my grandmothers) and then watch the dog show. Thankfully, my husband and I "added" another seat at the table with the arrival of our daughter 2 years ago. Hopefully, they will continue to be filled as the years go by. Here's hoping we all appreciate our families and a Very Happy Thanksgiving to All!
