Ok, so I'm a little late....

In updating my blog!!  We've been swamped here at the Crescent Colours warehouse, where floss fairies flit about and make our floss beautiful.  I have been deluged with patterns using our threads and frames and I'm so grateful to the designers, they use our products, then you, the stitcher does.  It's a beautiful cycle of needlework heaven.

Anyway, onto some pictures of recent designs using our threads and frames, I think you'll enjoy it!

This is The North Wind, by Little House Needleworks..it's so snowy and cute!  Uses Crescent Colours cotton floss and the frame is The Beatrice in Fleamarket Icing

I love Christmas music. Only a few more days until I can blare it all day long, much to my employee's chagrin.  My favorites are Silent Night, Carol of the Bells and O Holy Night.  Anyway, onto the design, which is called, surprise, Christmas Carols by Country Cottage Needleworks.  It's framed in one of our Louis frames in Fleamarket Icing.  I think I'm gonna pull out my Christmas cd's and put them in the changer in my truck, then I can listen whenever I want.

I love this piece, because I love doves and it always makes me think of Peace.  The title of this chart by Country Cottage Needleworks is Joy Peace Love.  It's framed in a fabulous June frame in Fleamarket Icing.

I'm saving the best for last, don't you know!!  Snow White by Little House Needleworks is already kitted up in my stitching basket!  The piece is one colour of Belle Soie silk, named Icing.  The frame is named after my beauty of a daughter, Meg. The finish is Fleamarket Icing.  It's so wintery and frosty. Love it!

And last, but certainly not least, Snowflake Serenade by Country Cottage Needleworks.  We framed it with The Merry in Fleamarket Icing.  Isn't it the epitome of snowy, frosty, icy and winter? Oh yeah, and Christmas too.  I'll be digging out some stuff to kit this up too. Lovely.

Well, that's all I can think of right now, except the Brach's Christmas Nougets on my desk...oh, they are so good and one of my favorite Christmas treats.  What's your favorite once a year treat?

Wait, should I have a giveaway? Oh what a fun idea!!  Ok, here are the rules, you need to be a follower of my blog, and post to this comment your favorite Christmas candy, the winner will have the choice of one of the frames shown above.  I'll draw by random number on Monday, November 22nd at 9:00 am.

Let's see how many extra followers I have by Monday! Wheee! Have fun!

Oh and those following the fate of my dear golden retriever, Finley, he's been to the oncologist and he's had the first of 4 radiation treatments.  The vet told us it would keep him more comfortable in the last months of his life, by diminishing the pain. Extra benefits of the radiation is that it might shrink or eliminate the tumor, thus lengthening his life span up to a year.  But we'll take what we can now, enjoy him and love him and do what I can for him.  When he can't take the pain anymore, then I can't either. But we'll talk about that day later.  Right now, he's waiting to see if anyone walks by one the street, so he can bark them up.

Thanks for reading, if you made it this far! Have a wonderful holiday season!

Sharon

Sharon,
My favourite Christmas Candies are Chocolate Creme Drops -- they were my Nan's favourite and I buy them every year -- when I eat one, I'm 'sharing' with her (She's been gone since 1994).
Love your blog, BTW!

Hi Sharon. I'd have to say my favorite Christmas candies are the hard fruit flavored ones in the can and candy ribbons plus my mom's fudge and my homemade buckeyes. Ok--too much candy there but I don't eat it the rest of the year so its ok--Right? Lol!
Love your blog and I love your floss! I usually buy patterns that Welcome Stitchery in IL kits up with it.

Have been a faithful follower for quite a while, and I love your threads (especially the Belle Soie line). So, of course, I love your frames now too!!

My favorite Christmas candy would have to be the candy cane...not just because it is minty sweet, but because of all the wonderfully Christian meaning behind each aspect of it (http://logosresourcepages.org/Holidays/candy.htm).

Thanks for hosting such a generous giveaway.

P.S. Do you have a comprehensive listing of all the Crescent Colours cotton and silk threads that I could obtain?

HAPPY STITCHIN'

You know, I'm one of those who doesn't like to hear about Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving (Because I love Thanksgiving), but this blogpost really put me in the mood. :)

My favorite Carol is definitely Carol of the Bells (My favorite song is Peggy Lee's "Happy Holiday"), and Dear Marc's is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (also a favorite here!)

For treats, I love apple cider, homemade cranberry sauce, and "Christmas Cake". :)

Now, back to my stitching! I just started a Prairie Schooler design which I converted to cotton overdye using mostly your crescent cottons, and I am loving it! I started with the red fox (he's wearing "Red Currant").

I also want to mention that though I HATE stitching in white thread, I love your BS Icing, and use it whenever I possibly can! It is just the best white (color or texture) I know!

Happy Thanksgiving and best wishes to Finley!

Hee hee. My last post didn't make sense, sorry. Just became an official follower although I've been checking in on your blog for a while. My favorite Christmas candy is homemade fudge. Every year, Mom makes the candy while the rest of us decorate her tree/house. Yup, she still does it even though all the kids are in their 30's. And you question just made me realize that I will be getting my fudge next weekend. Yippee!

I had you bookmarked on my favorites but just became an official follower ... I really want to participate in this giveaway. Your frames are lovely. I've always loved your fibers but didn't realize you had frames as well. I just got a fantastic order of a dozen Belle Soie silks and Crescent Colours cotton overdyes in the mail ... I've got to say your Weeping Willow and Ye Olde Gold [for Plum Street Samplers Halloween Greetings] are simply wonderful. I also stocked up on some of the silk ... I have fallen in love with Foo Foo Flamingo and have been using Tortoise Shell as my go-to neutral for borders and backgrounds for some time now ...

My favourite Christmas candy was always my mother's homemade chocolate fudge however once I married a French Canadian I had a new favourite. The French sucre a creme is a traditional fudge from the province of Quebec, simply made from butter, white and brown sugars. It's decadent!!!

Some new patterns to add to my wish list. I think my favorite Christmas candy would have to be the snickers nutcrackers. They just seem to have more caramel than nougat.

I'm anxiously waiting to purchase North Wind as soon as it becomes available so would LOVE that frame. My mom, who passed away in March, always recited that poem (in its entirety) to me and that picture reminds me of her in such a good way. I don't think I've met a candy I don't like, but Mom's English Butter Toffee that she only made for Christmas has to be the best. I guess it's my job to make it now for the next generation.
