Some of you may have read in your shop's newsletters or on their websites that the price of cottons was increasing. After some thought and cost reworking, I'm happy to say that the price of cotton will remain the same. The silks will still be increasing and will be more in line with the other hand dyed silk lines.
Hope this information was helpful and that the news is GOOD news!

I'm feeling a little royal today....
so I swiped this picture from my friend, Diane from Little House Needleworks. This design, "Queen Bee" was stitched with Crescent Colours cotton floss and frame in The Michelle frame from the Family Tree Frame Co. The finish is Fleamarket Icing. I have this one in my house, an oldie, but TOTALLY goodie! Enjoy!

Coming soon from Blackbird Designs!!
The newest Anniversary of the Heart #7 should be in shops soon, I'm excited! This pattern also has one of the bonus patterns for the series. Both patterns use Crescent Colours cotton floss. I had to laugh, because this little snippet from their blog is totally true. Barb will call and say, "Oh Sharon, you know what..I am now in love with Jakey Brown or Calico Kitty". So this made me giggle...
I love Barb and Alma, two of my most favorite women in my life. Happy Stitching! Sharon
Barb's "newest" favorite color is Crescent Colours Camouflage. She used this floss on the vine that surrounds the house. After seeing this one finished, I have to admit, I ran to my local shop and got a couple of skeins. (She always has a new favorite color.)

The Family Tree Frame Company
***Warning: Very picture heavy but worth it!!***
Some of you may not know that Crescent Colours has a division called The Family Tree Frame company. We make primitive, shabby and chic frames for needlework. Most of our frames are used by Little House Needleworks, Country Cottage Needleworks, Plum Street Sampler and JBW Designs. The frames are named after my family members, a few friends and a few dogs. This is Winter Wonderland by Country Cottage Needleworks.

What a sweet pattern!!
New from Blackbird Designs comes this sweet little pincushion pattern called, "Rose Garden". The pattern uses three (3) skeins of our cotton, Jakey Brown. Some of you know how I name my threads, but I'm sure some don't. A lot of the threads are named after family, friends, and dogs. Some flowers, some are because of the color, etc. I like things that rhyme and a 'melodic' sound to it. Like Really Teally, Lavender Louise and Blushing Beauty. They just kinda roll of your tongue. Here's a picture of Rose Garden
Anyway, Jakey Brown is name after my dog, Jake. We rescued him from an agency that fosters dogs here in Tucson. He was 4 months old and had been abused. He was adorable! White with brown spots, they said that he was a Labrador mix. So he came home and met his brother, Finley (of Finley Gold fame) our golden retriever. It was love at first sight. They became and remain inseparable. The following Monday, I took Jake to the vet to have him checked over. She looked him over, chuckled and said, "I didn't know you were getting a Great Dane". I kind of stood there, like a deer in the headlights, mumbling, 'they said he was a Lab mix'. She went to get one of the vets and he came into the room and said, "Wow! What a great St. Bernard mix". They proclaimed him a Great Dane/St. Bernard mix. We proclaimed him Big Boy Jake. He did grow into a big dog, his back is about the bottom of my hip and his head higher. He is one big lovey boy. He's nine years old now, Finley is ten. They are in their golden years, Jake outliving his projected life span of eight years. We enjoy them so much, they are part of our family and provide love and joy as I've never experienced. Here's a picture of my pooches...I think they're pretty special.
